Salem’s Haven is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by dedicated volunteers. Our primary purpose is to promote animal welfare. Humane education, community outreach, and community participation are important components of our strategy. Through education and through building resident involvement in projects, Salem’s Haven aims to assist residents in founding animal shelters and other community charitable projects that will be staffed by local volunteers. We will assist in locating resources for food and medical supplies and for affordable spay and neuter services.

| Four million cats and dogs are put down in U.S. shelters each year.* That is one dog/cat about every 8 seconds. Spay and neuter your pet to reduce the population of unwanted animals. Consider getting your next pet from a shelter or rescue group rather than a breeder. There are many breed specific rescue groups. *US Humane Society |

We love dogs, too! We are expanding to include dogs (and other animals) in our rescue efforts.
